Rock Band Rush Wants Music Off of Limbaugh’s Show

*Rush, the band, wants no part of Rush, the man.

The Canadian rockers have joined Peter Gabriel in a creative boycott of Rush Limbaugh’s talk radio show after learning that one of their songs, “The Spirit of the Radio,” was also used during his rant against Sandra Fluke.

The band has filed a cease and desist letter, asking the DJ to stop playing their music.

“The public performance of Rush’s music is not licensed for political purposes and any such use is in breach of public performance licenses and constitutes copyright infringement,” the band said in a statement to Limbaugh, released Wednesday. “Accordingly, we hereby demand that you immediately stop all use of Rush’s music and confirm that you will do so.”

As previously reported, Gabriel issued a similar request after learning that his song “Sledgehammer” was used during one of Limbaugh’s rants against Fluke. (source: EURWEB)
